What We Support

We help make dreams happen!

As a fiscal sponsor,  the Foundation offers a way for many small organizations that don't have non-profit status to attract donors to their cause even when it's not yet recognized as a tax-exempt entity under the IRS rules.

As a sponsor, the Foundation provides financial support to a wide variety of fun and
cultural activities that enrich our community.

As a supporter, the Foundation participates in and promotes events and programs in our community.

OYE Latinx Conference

The OYE Latinx Youth Conference brings together hundreds of  local teens and young adults ages 12 to 22. Youth and their parents explore questions of identity and purpose, and build community through a fun and interactive day that includes hands-on workshops, inspirational speakers, artistic expression, community resource sharing and networking.

Before Our Very Eyes

Before Our Very Eyes is a human trafficking awareness campaign with a focus on domestic human trafficking which involves both sexual exploitation and forced labor. The goal is to reach people who know very little about human trafficking, to encourage them to learn more about the topic, to identify it in our own surroundings, and to fight it in their own neighborhoods.

Sesquicentennial Celebration

In 2017 the City of Redwood City celebrated its 150 anniversary. To celebrate this significant anniversary the Redwood City Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee was formed to plan and organize a year- long celebration. The Committee, led by Barbara Pierce and Dee Eva, hosted many wonderful events that allowed the community to discover the City's rich history, honor its diversity and explore the neighborhoods.

Neighbor Film Project

Neighbor is a film that was written and directed by Tony Gapastione. Tony wanted to write and direct this story to bring light into a dark place: human trafficking. The stealing, harboring, objectifying, and horrendous abuse of human beings, (many who are young children and women), is an ugly reality. Human trafficking is happening right under our noses, in our beautifully landscaped, white collared, American neighborhoods.

2016 Run With the Cops

This annual run supports the Cadets of the Redwood City Police Department. This fundraiser supports Cadets who compete in several local competitions as well as the state competition in Sacramento.

The foundation provided seed money to launch this project.

STEAM Fest

STEAM Fest on the Square was a FREE Bay Area festival introducing kids and adults to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) through fun experiments, presentations, speakers, and demonstrations held on Courthouse Square. The foundation provided  great projects for young and old alike to enjoy that used science to create art!

Port Fest

PortFest is a FREE annual celebration held on the first Saturday in October at the Port of Redwood City. PortFest is a day-long waterfront festival. It welcomes the community to learn about the maritime heritage of the Port, the industrial working waterfront, as well as recreational activities on San Francisco Bay. The day also includes live music, children’s activities, food trucks and booths, and more.

Scare on the Square

As part of the family-friendly Scare on the Square event, the foundation was in charge of the Pumpkin Carving Contest. We thought would it be easy, but we had the hardest time choosing the winners. They were all so fantastic!

Incredible Edible

Incredible Edible Mid-Peninsula is a group of local gardeners who share the belief that our community is enriched when all residents have access to good, local fruits and vegetables and are engaged in the process.

They were inspired by the Incredible Edible Todmorten UK sustainable community gardens and how they invigorated a community on many levels from front yard plots to sharing edible gardens in public spaces.  The foundation assisted Incredible Edible in becoming a non-profit with a generous grant from Whole Foods Market.
