Harambee is a Swahili word with complex meanings. Its closest translation in English is “all together for one.” In 2015 the Foundation, the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, and Fung Collaborative worked together with many community members and Artist Michael Koliner to create beautiful sculptures that were both public art and useful places to rest and play at three Redwood City parks. Harambee truly brought all of us together to work as one.
