It’s not easy to keep a secret in our day, but that’s a core theme of Picnic en Blanc which is the Foundation’s annual fundraiser that raises support to fund a community need. Each year the net proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships is contributed to the support of a different local program or project. The Foundation, with assistance from the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department,  transforms an outdoor space into the perfect location for cocktails, lawn games, a picnic dinner and dance party. Guests return year-after-year and bring their friends.

Picnic en Blanc is scheduled for Saturday evening, August 10.  We hope you'll purchase a ticket and join us!  See you there! (Ticket sales CLOSE at midnight, Wednesday, August 7.)

WHAT WE ASK YOU TO BRING: Picnic en Blanc guests are asked to bring their own picnic dinner to the event. Many guests enjoy bringing grazing platters of food to share with friends. There is no food provided in exchange for purchasing a ticket and no food will be available for sale at the event. Many guests enjoy decorating their tables. (Only flameless candles, please!)

WHAT WE PROVIDE: We provide the venue, set up picnic tables, a cash bar, a dance floor and musical entertainment.

 

EVENT TIME/SCHEDULE: We think of Picnic en Blanc as our pop-up picnic and dance party. Picnic en Blanc begins with your picnic dinner, lawn games we set up, and socializing with friends, old and new. Following, the dance party band plays a 2-hour set. 

 

ATTIRE: Inspired by the Diner en Blanc concept which started in Paris in 1988, we ask guests to dress in white with a splash of color! (Men are welcome to wear khakis instead of white pants/shorts.)

 

EVENT LOCATION: Picnic en Blanc will be hosted at an outdoor venue in Redwood City. The venue remains a secret until 48 hours in advance at which time ticket sales will be closed and everyone who purchased a ticket will be notified by email.

 

FUNDRAISER: The Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit public charity. Picnic en Blanc is a fundraiser. The net proceeds from Picnic en Blanc are dedicated to support a community need.

 

TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION: You can make a tax deductible donation to support the cause.

 

REFUND/EXCHANGE POLICY: In the unlikely event that Picnic en Blanc is canceled, your ticket will not be refunded, but honored at an upcoming Picnic en Blanc.
