The Foundation was fortunate to host Picnic en Blanc on the secluded grounds of Shinnyo-En Buddhist Temple located in Emerald Hills. A performance by the Shinnyo-En Taiko Drumming Ensemble was a surprise treat. Neon Velvet, a 5-piece band, played modern rock dance music that was enjoyed by all.

 

Fundraising proceeds, which exceeded $11,000, supported America SCORES Bay Area, a program that offers a unique and high quality after-school program that integrates soccer + poetry + service learning. It's an innovative approach to youth development to improve students’ health, academic achievement and civic engagement.
